GE is 19 going on 20. Over the past two decades, thousands of speakers have been invited to deliver insightful speeches in their respective areas. Their words stimulated our students to critically reflect on themselves. Some distinguished guests will return as GE begins this celebratory year. Have they been 're-enlightened' after years of life experience? Their own stories seem independent but they inadvertently map the past, present, and future of the Hong Kong landscape.
站在時代巨輪前，港大通識見證了五分之一個世紀的變遷。過去20年曾為通識主講的嘉賓不計其數；他們過往的一些想法，經歲月洗禮下會否被「再啟蒙」？當中幾名星級講者將再度登場，重臨港大通識「復刻」當年話題。他們的故事，彷彿各自獨立，卻又無意間勾勒出一幅對照着過去、現在與將來的圖像。

Politics and Political Leadership
Mr. Jasper Tsang, the current LegCo President, was one of the guest speakers invited to the first GE Forum Series on civic education in 1995. The forum was about the mission of LegCo, which just then had its last general election before the handover. And in the summer of 2014, Mr. Tsang was invited to share his views on Hong Kong's constitutional development with a group of local, Mainland and foreign students at the LegCo. This time, with his over 20 years’ experience in the political circles, he will discuss the essence of politics and political leadership.

The Hon. Jasper Tsang 曾鈺成議員
Mr. Jasper Tsang has been President of the LegCo since 2008. Before his election as President, Mr. Tsang was a legislator representing the Kowloon West constituency from 1998 to 2008. He was re-elected twice by the Hong Kong Island constituency in 2008 and 2012.
Mr. Tsang was chairman of the political party Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong from 1992 to 2003. Before Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997, Mr. Tsang was actively involved in the setting up of the Special Administrative Region. He served on the Preparatory Committee formed in 1996 and was a member of the Provisional LegCo from 1997 to 1998.

Jacky Cheung's 30 Years of Music Journey
Mr. Jacky Cheung, the veteran singer of Canto-pop will revisit HKU after 10 years to share his view of Hong Kong’s pop music industry as well as the 30th anniversary of his music career.
大約十年前，學友曾經來到港大通識演講。在「香港流行音樂三十年」的課程系列中，他分享了很多香港樂壇發展的獨到觀點。當時，他也回憶了好些入行二十載的故事。十年人事，2015年既是通識20周年紀念，亦是學友音樂事業30周年，今次難得再聚，他將會在我們的大講堂，與同學們「細數30光年」，真情流露。

張學友，首張發行專輯Smile (1985) 在香港銷量高達30萬張，90年代， 學友被封為香港樂壇「四大天王」之一，被美國《時代週刊》列入亞洲最有影響力的50位人物之一。1993年發行的國語專輯《吻別》在華人地區熱賣，單在台灣銷售量已超過130萬張，獲封「歌神」。1995年推出《真愛新曲+精選》，銷售量突破100萬張，並獲得世界音樂大獎（World Music Awards）。1997年擔任藝術總監並主演大型原創音樂劇《雪狼湖》，共演出103場，創下華人音樂劇史上演出場次最多的音樂劇。1999年當選世界十大傑出青年；並多次被美國《Billboard》音樂雜誌評選為亞洲最傑出的流行歌手。2007年的《學友光年世界巡迴演唱會》一年內完成105場，創下華人歌手個唱新紀錄。2010年《張學友1/2世紀演唱會》以12個月內累積觀眾總數2,048,553人次，打破了健力士世界紀錄。

“Priority Seats Section” will be given to current students who enrolled in person on 28/1 or 29/1 at the GE enrolment counters.
Limited quotas are available on first-come-first-admitted basis. Seating Plan
For students who are eligible for the “Seating Priority”, admission will begin at 4:50pm and you are required to be seated before 5:10pm. Please present the acknowledgement receipt and student ID card for admission. ONE Receipt allows ONE Person ONLY.
Late-comers (after 5:10pm) will lose their seating priority and have to join the regular queue or standby queue for the allocation of the remaining seats, if available.
4. Online Registrants
For participants who registered online, admission will begin from 5:10pm and you are required to be seated before 5:25pm.
Late-comers (after 5:25pm) will forfeit their seats and the remaining seats will be released to the waiting list or standby queue, 5 minutes before the programme commences.
