Management Consultants help client companies to improve their corporate management and offer advice as a third party. Are you interested in joining the top management consulting firms? Do you know what the job is like exactly? Can students of all majors take up a career in this field?
As part of the Job Secret Decoder series, we have invited Rayna Wang from our full-time Class of 2016 to share about her previous management consulting experience. This is an interactive Zoom session, you are welcome to ask questions after listening to Rayna on facts about management consulting and tips to get through the case interviews. Join us to hear about:
- What do management consultants do (what does a day-in-the-job look like)?
- Who should consider management consulting as a career (and who probably should think twice)?
- How to prepare for case interviews with consulting firms?
- What is the typical career path/exit option for management consultants?
Speaker: Ms. Rayna Wang
After graduated from HKU with a Bachelor of Business Administration (International Business & Global Management), and second major Economics, Rayna joined Bain & Company as a Management Consultant, where she spent most of her time working on cases for financial services institutions, including commercial due diligence for private equity, corporate strategy, customer journey, and other topics. She stayed in consulting for about 2 years and is currently working in strategy at a fintech start-up.
