HKMA & Risk Management: Looking into the Banking Industry in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is the central banking institution of Hong Kong. As a public organisation, it makes continuous efforts to streamline its work to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness. It also aims to maintain a lean and flexible structure and, where possible, to redeploy staff resources to undertake new initiatives and meet the increasing workload.

Mr. Tony Chim, who graduated from HKU in 2018, is an experienced professional with extensive exposure in risk management of the banking industry and regulators, including HSBC, Bank of China, Chong Hing Bank and HKEx. Currently being a Manager in Banking Supervision Department of HKMA, he supervises banking industry with regards to the banks’ safety and soundness, risk-management systems and internal controls.
