Summary 內容: | Are you ready to make a meaningful impact and broaden your understanding of the world? We present you with an exciting opportunity to participate in the Service-Learning Ambassador Programme: Branches of Hope. Branches of Hope is a local Hong Kong NGO dedicated to supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals who have faced human trafficking and exploitation. In partnership with HKU, Branches of Hope has organised a series of events and training sessions over the past academic year. These efforts culminated in a powerful exhibition showcasing students' work on the theme of 'perceptions and preconceptions. By exploring students' existing beliefs about asylum and human trafficking, providing training from industry professionals, and facilitating interactions with those affected by these issues, the exhibition aims to illuminate our understanding of 'what' we know, 'how' we know it, and 'why' we know it. This critical examination challenges current narratives surrounding refugees and survivors of human trafficking. In the upcoming semester, Branches of Hope and HKU will focus on community interaction through outreach and engagement initiatives. We are now recruiting students interested in joining this impactful project to support our trained ambassadors, volunteer experiences and co-creation of an exhibition. Whether you are a local or international student, we value your perceptions and preconceptions about refugees, asylum seekers, and survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. This project is run by Branches of Hope in partnership with the Centre of Development and Resources for Students, The University of Hong Kong, with the support of the Whole-Person Development Fund under the University Grants Committee.
