The MaD Forum is a regional event that endows Asian young people aged 16-35 with a creative, socially conscious and boundary-crossing mind-set and empowers them to create positive change.  In the past three years, the forum has received more than 3,500 young people from over 70 Asian cities.
 
Themed as "Call to Action: The Choice is Yours", the 4th MaD Annual Forum will evolve around 3 key themes – discovery, creativity and impact.  Participants will be exposed to critical issues of local and global development, stimulating thoughts ahead of our time.  Comprising of thematic talks, interactive activities and other 2.0 activities, MaD 2013 is a forum for inspirations and a meet-up for actions, with a line-up of over 20 international thought leaders including:
 
Mr. Stanley Yen, Chairman, The Alliance Cultural Foundation (Taipei)
Mr. Thomas Heatherwick, Designer of the Olympic cauldron in the London Olympics (UK)
Mr. Song Dong, Artist (China)
Prof. Philip George Zimbardo, Emeritus Professor of Stanford University and President of Heroic Imagination Project (US)

MaD 2013 Forum is organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture, and the General Education Unit, HKU is one of the Participants’ Sponsors.  GE is pleased to offer 30 sets of discounted tickets to students before the start of the semester with the following details:

Forthcoming event highlights: A Satellite event at HKU featuring Emily Pilloton, one of the renowned speakers of the MaD Forum 2013 will be arranged on January 25, 2013.  She is a founder of Project H Design, a non-profit charitable organization that uses design and building as catalysts for community improvement.  Emily will share with HKU students her works and her vision on using design to empower communities and change the world.  More details will be announced soon nearer the time.  Stay tuned!
