The City Dark Director: Ian Cheney 2011 / USA / 83 min / English Our cities never sleep—they are getting brighter and brighter with the numerous outdoor lighting installed all around. This documentary explores the problem of light pollution and the disappearing night sky. Date: 6 Oct 2014 (Mon) Time: 12:30 - 14:00 Venue: Covered Podium outside Main Library 2. DamNation Director: Ben Knight & Travis Rummel 2014 / USA / 87 min / English Dams are built to store water or prevent flooding. But they also alter the landscapes and natural habitats. This documentary reveals the change in nature after the removal of some obsolete dams. It also documents the change in values, from taking over to embracing the natural world. More than Honey Director: Markus Imhoof 2012 / Switzerland / 95 min / English If all bees are lost and gone, what will happen to human beings? A large number of honey bee colonies around the world have disappeared over the past decades. This documentary explores the causes and consequences of the phenomenon. This screening is part of the GE ConFest – “Lost and Found”. Post-screening Discussion Guest Speaker: Mr. Michael Leung Michael Leung is a designer, beekeeper and urban farmer at HK Farm, Yau Ma Tei. He focuses on socio-cultural and environmental projects that are inspired by people and the Hong Kong context and urban environment.
