ISIS, Taliban, Boko Haram; the list of Islamic terrorist groups is growing rapidly around the world. Hardline Islamic groups have committed heinous acts of violence and extreme terror in the name of religion. On the other hand, most Muslims would denounce such beliefs without hesitation. In the time of uncertainty, many wonder what are the reasons behind global terrorism and the involvement of radical Islam in it. Join in the ensuing debate where you will also listen first hand to the views of an Islamic scholar and a former war correspondent.
The forum is co-organised by HKU Student Consulting Group and the General Education Unit.

Panellists:
Mufti Muhammad Arshad
(Chief Imam of Hong Kong)
Mr. Kevin Sites (Associate Professor of Practice, Journalism and Media Studies Centre, HKU; Former War Correspondent)
