| Summary 內容: | In 1967, there were mass strikes and many home-made ‘pineapple’ (i.e. bombs) on the streets as Hong Kong fell into months of fear and violence. Although the riots happened nearly half a century ago, their historical impact can still very much be felt today. In 1989, the student movement in Beijing eventually triggered a march of 1.5 million people in Hong Kong. In 2014, the class boycott led to an occupy movement of an unprecedented scale in the city originated from the controversies surrounding universal suffrage.
