| Summary 內容: | English Theatre Workshop "Les Misérables" (not the Musical!) 孤星淚（經典話劇版） Adapted from the novel by Victor Hugo Once in a lifetime chance to act in Les Misérables (This is an original English stage adaptation.) You will perform in it on a professional stage with native English Professional actors (over 12,000 tickets have been sold, a record breaking in HK theatres!) This is a great opportunity for you to improve your English while learning to act in a professional performance under the tutelage and direction of Dr. Vicki Ooi, Artistic Director of The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection (AFTEC).    Dr. Vicki Ooi is a well-known theatre director in Hong Kong for over 30 years, she was one of the earliest directors to introduce western plays in translation on the Hong Kong stage. Dr. Ooi began teaching Theatre and English in the English Department of HKU in 1971 and retired after almost 30 years. Since December 2008, Dr. Ooi has been the Artistic Director of AFTEC, which specialises in youth theatre, bilingual theatre and arts programmes with the philosophy of learning and participation embedded. This workshop is co-organised by General Education Unit, HKU and AFTEC, and the production of Les Misérables is sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Training Date: 16 & 17/1/2016 (Sat & Sun) Time: 10:00 – 13:00 & 14:00 – 17:00 Venue: HKU Performance* Date & Time: • 2 – 18/3/2016 (Mon – Fri) | 10:15, 13:45, 16:30 • 6 & 13/3/2016 (Sun) | 14:30 Venue: Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre Theatre * Rehearsal will be arranged in the evenings on 24/2 – 1/3/2016 Fee HK$200 Deposit (refundable upon successful completion of this programme) Each participant is required to participate in 7 performances.
