‘Culture’ celebrates individuality and uniqueness whereas ‘Industry’ is about moulding and mass production. However, putting them together seems to become the most agreeable thing ever.  Last session we learnt of cultural politics through the story of Guggenheim museum's expansion to the world. In session two, we will look at the narrative of art, i.e. what makes art "art"? We will also introduce various power and agents in the industry. Referring to cultural theories and case studies, we will take a moment to question everything about the art/cultural industry and attempt the big questions: what is art? And what is the purpose of art?
