Summary 內容: | This summer, 9 monumental sculptures by world-renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero will be exhibited at Central Harbourfront. It is the artist’s first exhibition in the city, following two successful exhibitions in Beijing and Shanghai. We have invited the curator and organisers of these exhibitions to share with us the origin of the artist’s signature ‘Boterismo’ style — depicting figures in large and exaggerated volume, and its implications in 3-D format and space. The speakers will also discuss how Botero’s art, deeply rooted in Latin American culture and classical art tradition, engages with Asian audience. This event is co-organised by General Education Unit, the University Museum and Art Gallery and Parkview Art Hong Kong.
