Summary 內容: | While we are facing all kinds of challenges and unknowns, music could still accompany us through these tough times with tears and laughter. The pandemic has hit us hard and put Hong Kong’s signature music festival on hold, yet we could still make music friends to support each other in this journey. In the last session of Music Salon of this semester, we will share our memorable festival moments, artists, bands and tunes. Different musicians including jazz guitarist Alan Kwan, singer-songwriters JUDE and Siu Yuen, jazz band Rootless Voyagers, and alumnus Michael Du would be invited to have an online gig to create a music festival of our own. Host: Dr. Wong Chi Chung Elvin 黃志淙博士 Head of General Education, CEDARS, HKU; Veteran Radio DJ Guests: Alan Kwan 關家傑, Jude Tsang 曾若華, Siu Yuen 楊智遠, Rootless Voyagers and Michael Du Format: Conducted via online platform Remarks: A Zoom link will be sent to participant at least one day before the event day Language: English Registration: ► HKU Students and Staff - https://hkuems1.hku.hk/hkuems/ec_hdetail.aspx?ueid=71585 ► Alumni and Public - https://hkuems1.hku.hk/hkuems/ec_hdetail.aspx?guest=Y&ueid=71586 |

Drawing his inspirations from Neo-Soul, alternative Hip-Hip, R&B and Post-Bop movements, M.Du embarks on his quest on finding a unique sonic pallet. Recently due to mysterical natural-spiritual forces M.Du has been a keen follower of the transcendental. His new quest is to discover music that resonates well with other homo-sapiens. Rigorous and Vigorous are the adjectives for him. Graduated as an Architectural student in the University of Hong Kong, he has his own understanding about soundscape and acoustic field. M.Du has been participating jobs such as ad arranging and mixing, while he plays live at major cities such as Hong Kong and Shanghai. To him, nothing is as refreshing and liberating as the chemical reaction between musicians while improvising. M.Du joined Eating Music in 2018, and continues his journey with keen minded peeps. |
