Summary 內容:
It is no exaggeration to say that the past two years have been the years of “virtual burnout,” as so many experiences have inevitably become online experiences. This series, featuring an array of music including jazz, acapella, and Canto-pop, and staged by our talented students and the young alumni of HKU, will reconnect us “in-person” again during these challenging times.

Our performers are ready, and their musical instruments are tuned. It’s time to be dazzled by their enchanting songs and tunes around the campus.

Kong U Big Band
is the first big band ever set up among the universities in Hong Kong. Established in 2014, Kong U Big Band strives to create a platform for jazz players in The University of Hong Kong to share their passion for this music genre and to promote the appreciation of jazz music within the HKU community.  The Band made its debut performance at the Hong Kong Summer Jazz Festival 2014 with the support of HKU’s General Education Unit and the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra. In the long term, we aim to spread the culture of jazz music appreciation to other academic institutions in Hong Kong in order to encourage a young audience and players to enter the local jazz scene.

Pamela Chiu
is a Year 3 Medical student of HKU. She runs a music channel @pamsmusic on Instagram, which has about 30K followers. In addition to being an accomplished vocalist, she also plays the guitar and piano, and regularly posts music covers on social media.

Medici Cantano
, formerly known as the Hong Kong Medical Performing Arts Association (HKMPAA) is a music group formed by medical students of the HKU aiming to provide a platform for medical students to share their passion for music. It is now composed of the acapella team and the band team.
