GE2014-49
The international media reports mostly on North Korea's nuclear programme and human rights issues. Very little is known about the lives of 24 million ordinary North Koreans, their hardship and their struggle, their desires and hopes. They are often forgotten. Over the course of the last two decades, North Korea has undergone many social changes. Ms. Zellweger, who has years of experience in working with, and for, the North Korean people, will talk about the impact of humanitarian aid and development assistance, the challenges and the opportunities.
The two talks aim to help the audience to develop a greater understanding of the situation in North Korea and the lives of the people there. Audience will also get a better understanding of humanitarian aid and international politics.
