Hong Kong Agenda
Hong Kong faces a new, or renewed, set of challenges linked to its economy, culture, and politics. Global problems challenge traditional ways of thinking and demand new forms of learning that reshape the boundaries of knowledge. In response to the rapidly changing dynamics, the lecture series, ‘Hong Kong Agenda’ will continue this semester.

These lectures bring together a number of expert speakers from different fields. They will guide us to consider how we may strengthen Hong Kong’s competitive edge and reinforce its value and influence in Asia and the world.

(22 Oct 2015)
The Environment Bureau in May unveiled the Energy Saving Plan for the Built Environment 2015~2025+ (「香港都市節能藍圖2015~2025+」), which sets a new target of reducing Hong Kong's energy intensity by 40% by 2025. The plan is the first-ever energy saving blueprint for Hong Kong. It analyses energy use in Hong Kong and sets out the policy, strategy, target and key actions that can help Hong Kong achieve the new target.

Public Lecture (24 Nov 2015)

The District Council Election 2015, set for this Sunday, will be the first for the city since the largest sit-in movement Occupy Movement ended last year. Most regard the polls as a reflection of public opinion in the wake of the pro-democracy protests and failed political reform. Will any of the Umbrella candidates become a district councillor? Will the pro-establishment camp retain its lead in the election? Speakers will tell you more about the significance of this election, and the reshaped political landscape soon after the results released.
