Music Salon – Vinyl Fantasies
Have you ever seen, touched, played or owned a vinyl record?

Some might think it is an outmoded music carrier. There are also many myths about vinyls: only old music sells on vinyl; they are only for DJs scratching sound effects; vinyl is dead, etc.

Vinyls mean a lot to some music lovers.  The Vinyl Revival is also a recent rising phenomenon, upon which the music industry, media, and fans hang their hopes and build their fantasies. The sound and feel of listening to this analogue music medium in our digital era seems contradictory. In fact, the more computerised and digitalized our lives have become, the more our sentiment has grown for the simplicity of the vinyl record. For instance, the Makers Movement and the Back-to-the-basic  movement keep building the momentum of the revival of some vintage technologies and artefacts.  Today, the vinyl culture is growing beyond nostalgia. Proponents of the movement agree that the sound quality, artwork (on 7”, 10”, 12”; covers and booklets, colour discs, picture discs, shaped discs, etc.) are incomparable when compared with the digital formats.  And, if you are in pursuit of an organic and total music experience, it this Music Salon might offer you the vinyl experience of which you dream.

If you have never seen or listened to any vinyl records, you are welcome to join and share this new experience with your friends.  If you are a vinyl-phile, please bring along with your collections. This music salon is open for you all. Let’s unwrap the myths and mysteries of vinyl and join together to embrace the warmth and joy of the vinyl world.
