第八屆新視野藝術節將於本年十月二十一日到十一月二十日舉行，從亞洲各地帶來創新出眾的跨界別藝術表演。港大通識將與新視野藝術節合作為其中兩場表演舉辦演前分享會。
The eighth edition of the New Vision Arts Festival will be held from 21 October to 20 November 2016 showcasing innovative and outstanding cross-disciplinary performances with an Asian focus. GE collaborates with NVAF to house two sharing sessions with demonstration prior to the performances respectively.

The three creative forces behind Utopia, momentarily reveal how they shaped their pop-alt show, their passion for Hong Kong culture, and why they sought to share – if only for a moment – their on-going hope for utopia amid difficult times.

蘇密克．德達自幼學習印度古老樂器薩羅德琴，一種柚木琴身、羊皮琴腹，配以十九條弦線、不置琴品的獨特彈撥樂器。多年來德達以琴會友，不獨在印度尋找日漸被邊緣化的音樂傳統，更積極與來自不同文化背景的音樂家對話。在這個講座中，德達將邊講邊彈，為你娓娓道來他如何透過《鬼樂神功》的合作找到音樂的無邊力量。
Soumik Datta learned from a young age to play the ancient Indian sarod, a rare instrument made of mahogany and sheepskin and features 19 strings stretched over a fretless metal fingerboard. Over the years, Datta has been meeting new friends through the sarod. Not only does he search out a musical heritage gradually being marginalised in India, he also actively engages in dialogue with musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds. In this demo-talk, Datta plays the sarod as he shares how he discovers the limitless power of music through the collaboration in King of Ghosts.
