東平洲是香港第四個海岸公園,以多變的海岸地貌及層層相疊的沉積岩聞名。來個離島小旅行,最適合跟着「東平洲環島郊遊徑」漫遊,可以走遍島上主要景點,包括更樓石、難過水、龍落水、斬頸洲、海蝕平台及海蝕崖等,一圈約6公里。

Tung Ping Chau, Hong Kong’s fourth marine park, is known for its varied coastal landforms and unusual rock formations. The Ping Chau Country Trail is your best bet for a day trip to Tung Ping Chau—the 6-km route covers key attractions on the island, including Kang Lau Shek, Lan Kwo Shui, Lung Lok Shui, Cham Keng Chau, wave-cut platforms, and sea cliffs.

Bio of Instructor(s) 導師簡介:
Mr. Jackie Chu
Jackie Chu is an exploration geologist with field experience in Kazakhstan and Indonesia. He graduated in Earth Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and finished his Master’s degree in Marine Geosciences in the University of Plymouth in the UK. His research interest is in environmental geology and resources sustainability. He was the Hong Kong representative for the International Antarctic Expedition 2014.
In 2015, Jackie published the book Hong Kong Mining History which is the first bilingual book compiling the geology and history of over 30 abandoned mining sites in Hong Kong. He is one of the founders of ProjecTerrae, a Hong Kong based charitable organisation that aims to promote the preservation and sustainability of natural resources. Jackie is committed to advancing the development of Earth Sciences and he has previously initiated various seminars, local geological tours, overseas expedition and exhibitions.
