GE2021-18
In the Herb Garden located outside the 2/F entrance of the Main Library, you can find a variety of over 20 different herbs with their refreshing aromas and healing powers. As we practice eco-friendly gardening, the most important thing to learn is to nurture healthy soil. It not only supports the growth of plants, but also provides a habitat for insects and microbes. Another special type of soil, clay can be moulded in shapes and hardened when fired at high temperature, giving us the ceramics we so often use in daily life. When we concentrate on making the soil, we can feel its texture and temperature. This is somehow a way to practise ‘mindfulness’ – being aware of the present moment and without being judgemental. Participants in this workshop will learn to make a handbuilt ceramic piece, which will then attach to an air plant as an ornament. In addition, our friendly instructors will also share their tips on growing herbs.

Bio of Instructor(s)

Mr. Gary Tse

Ms. Fanny Sit
