《人類群星閃耀時》一書，因為一首廣東歌而人所共知，而由奧地利猶太裔作家褚威格寫作的原著，究竟訴說了甚麼的故事呢？
褚威格最著名的作品，首選短篇小說〈一位陌生女子的來信〉，而《人類群星閃耀時》寫的則是十四個對人類文明影響深遠的關鍵時刻。褚威格以文學書寫歷史，這些時刻包括拜占庭的陷落、滑鐵盧的決戰、太平洋的發現、歌德的暮年戀歌、托爾斯泰劇作的尾聲，等等。
在此，我們可以讀到怎樣的人類星光呢？
