香草在農圃中彷彿是不起眼的陪襯角色，但真正懂得烹調料理的人就知道，香草是最佳的天然調味材料，而且用途廣泛，調味之外更可沖泡香草茶、製作護膚用品及裝飾擺設，每種香草都有其獨特香氣，而且充滿各種療癒效果。
導師將講解各種適合香港種植的香草植物，由種子發芽、生長、繁殖至採收的要點，以及不同的加工方法，如乾製、香草茶、香草鹽和香包。我們透過學習香草，學習打開自己的感觀，包括觸覺、嗅覺、味覺或視覺等，在香草園來一場正念練習。每位參加者會製作兩件香草產品，完成課程後可加入港大香草園的團隊，參與種植工作，推廣本地香草的應用。
Herbs may be seen as inconspicuous and insignificant, but those who truly know about the culinary arts will see herbs as the best, natural flavours that possess versatile and powerful functions. In this programme, the instructor will share the skill of herb growing and teach you how to use fresh grown herbs to produce different products such as dried herbs, herbal tea, salt, and herb sachets. Moreover, we will learn to awaken our senses through understanding herbs and practising ‘mindfulness’ in the Herb Garden. Each participant will make two herbal products, and those who have completed this programme may join the Herb Garden team and help with the growing tasks.
