昆蟲是地球上種類及數量最龐大的類別，全球約二百萬種已被命名及描述的動物之中，約有三分之二是昆蟲，可以說昆蟲才是地球的真正主人翁。香港氣候溫暖，擁有多樣的生態環境，昆蟲種類十分豐富。這些多采多姿的小動物可以說是無處不在，在戶外活動及生態導賞活動之中亦擔當了重要的角色。蜻蜓及蝴蝶不但是近年許多自然保護案例中的主角，也是野生動物觀賞活動熱門的主題；夏夜的螢火蟲不但是古往今來人們喜歡的觀察對象，也反映着光害程度和環境質素；蜜蜂蝴蝶除了作為植物重要的傳粉媒介之外，牠們對於整個食物鏈亦有着舉足輕重的地位。本課程將介紹昆蟲鮮為人知的一面，分享觀察的方法和樂趣，以及透過認識昆蟲來進一步了解香港的自然生態，和它們與環境的互動關係。
Insects are the most diverse category of creature on Earth, which comprise about two-thirds of all named and described animals. They are always the focus of eco-tours in Hong Kong as the weather favours the diversity of the organisms. They are grabbing more attention due to their significance in the eco-system and their ability to act as eco-indicators for changes in the environment. Mr. Samson So, Founder & Executive Director of the Eco Institute, will share with us the technique and joy of observing insects, and explaining their interactive roles in the eco-system.

蘇毅雄先生 Mr. Samson So
生態協會總監蘇毅雄於香港大學生態及分類學系獲得科學學士及哲學碩士，香港大學新聞及傳媒研究中心新聞碩士。自九十年代起，一直從事人員培訓及各類生態考察工作，並進行各類自然教育推廣、生態導賞、環境教育課程、公開演講及工作坊等。蘇毅雄亦是多產的自由寫作人及攝影師，以文章、照片及所舉辦的課程和考察活動，與公眾分享自然之樂。
