Service Learning

We consider service learning as one of the invaluable experiences of students. By serving as a platform to support service learning programmes in the University, we aim to reinforce students' awareness in the area of community service through direct service, policy research and advocacy actions; and to develop and enrich a collaborative hall culture through proactive participation in joint hall social service and partnership with the NGOs in the local community.

In the second semester of 2008 – 2009, we organised "Social Service Week – Service Opportunities this Summer" for students to plan a fruitful and rewarding summer holiday.

The Global Citizenship and Social Service Week, held in the first semester of the academic year 2009 – 2010, aims to promote global citizenship and encourage freshmen to contribute to the betterment of human conditions which is one of the six educational aims of HKU.
