Book Club: Dear Life
GE2019-adhoc02
Book Club: Dear Life
***Registration quota is full.***

While a long hot summer of momentous events that shocked the world pulled our heartstrings we must surely take succour from returning to basics – our relationship with families, relatives and friends. Nobel Laureate Alice Munro’s last short story collection, Dear Life, leads us via the lives of small town Ontario through tumultuous events of the 20th century, through changes wrought by war, by sexual revolution and by economic ups and downs. In the end we may find that people to whom we relate matters as much as ideals and ideologies, that whispers and nuance matters more than sound and fury.
Members of this Book Club are expected to take an active role in leading discussions and making presentations.
