GE2020-40
As COVID-19 abruptly changed the landscape, organisers and educators around the world quickly looked to re-imagine their events – so as the CEDARS-GE Team. Quite a number of GE programmes and events now happen online, but they are no less ‘real’ than face-to-face events. We need a strong team of GEST moderators and event assistants in place to make our programmes engaging, smooth, and fruitful.
In this workshop, two HKU alumni will share with you tips for moderating online events. You will learn how to engage with the audience and help keep the conversation moving in the virtual world.

Graduated from the University of Hong Kong, Rubio Chan and Jamie Cheung co-founded GLO Travel for promoting in-depth cultural tourism, soon developing into a representative example of Hong Kong's in-depth travel business. Due to the unexpectedly great impact to tourism by COVID-19, they immediately pivoted the business from tourism to online events and digital marketing.
With the experience as TV programmes hosts and live shows on social media, Rubio and Jamie have been organising and hosting 50+ online live events and courses, attracting a total of hundred of thousands views. The experience has made both of them professionals in hosting online shows and reacting to online audiences, and maximise engagements.
