Curriculum: Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Analytics) [Code: 6793]

The University Registration and Induction Programme for New Students will be held during August 15 to 19, 2023, depending on your curriculum of study. The Programme comprises three parts, namely Online Talk on Course Selection with Q&A, Faculty Induction Talk and Programme Induction Talk (if any) and CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk.

New undergraduates are required to register in advance and attend all three sessions to complete the University Registration and Induction Programme.

Online Talk on Course Selection with Q&A

Online Talk on Course Selection with Q&A will provide an opportunity for all freshmen to obtain information and ask questions in relation to course selection before the first day of course selection on August 17, 2023.

Faculty Induction Talk and Programme Induction Talk

The Faculty Induction Talk will give you an overview of your study at HKU and university life including introduction to your Faculty and Departments, programme structure, important academic matters such as curriculum requirement, course selection and enrolment, Common Core courses, academic integrity, academic advisement and experiential learning opportunities.

Date: August 16, 2023 (Wednesday)
Time: 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Venue: Grand Hall, Centennial Campus
Remarks: Faculty Induction Talk will be cancelled in case of inclement weather, with make-up session to be held at a later date, details of which will be announced.

CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk

The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) provides supportive resources and customised opportunities to students, enabling you to strive for excellence in the whole person development. In this CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk, students will be introduced to a wide range of non-academic services, support and resources to prepare you for your new learning journey at HKU and enable you for a fruitful first year learning experience.

Topics include:

  • New student adjustment tips;
  • Counselling support;
  • Support to students with disabilities and special educational needs (SEN support);
  • Financial resources;
  • Housing information;
  • Career advising;
  • Co-curricular programmes and out-of-classroom learning opportunities;
  • Different non-academic induction activities, and more...

The face-to-face session on August 18 will also offer an opportunity for students to meet new friends from across ten faculties in the student networking and ‘speed friending’ activities.

All attendees in the face-to-face session will receive exclusive CEDARS souvenirs!

Limited quota is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. New undergraduates should enrol in one of the following sessions.

Student Body Registration & Hall Information Day

New Students will visit your respective faculty societies to know more about the academic planning and get to know your fellow classmates. You will go around the campus to join clubs promoting different cultural, sports and other areas of interests. Students can also visit booths of different halls and join hall visits. Throughout the day, you can enroll for orientation activities by student societies/clubs.
