The “University’s Student Body Registration & Hall Information Day”, “Faculty Registration Day” and “Faculty Academic Induction” for all HKUMed new students will be held on 10, 11 and 14 August 2025, respectively. Individual programme will host various orientation activities to freshmen as well, please stay tuned and check your HKU email account constantly for details and updates.

While you should visit HKUMed First Year Portal (HKU Portal log-in required) for one-stop resources, including faculty- and programme-based essential information, please also observe the important information and reserve your time for the mandatory induction activities as indicated below.

Student Body Registration & Hall Information Day (Venue: HKU Main Campus)

After online Master Registration with HKU, HKUMed new students are invited to join the “Student Body Registration & Hall Information Day” at HKU Main Campus on 10 August 2025 (Sunday). Prior registration is required for crowd control purpose. You will have a tour around the Main Campus to join clubs that promote different cultural, sports and other areas of interests; as well as visit booths of different halls and join hall visits. Throughout the day, you may also enrol for orientation activities by student societies/clubs.

The assembly point and reporting time for students of different programme of studies are available on the “Student Body Registration & Hall Information Day” website HERE.

Faculty Registration Day (Venue: Sassoon Road Campus)

After online Master Registration with HKU, HKUMed new students are invited to join the Faculty Registration Day on Sassoon Road Campus on 11 August 2025 (Monday). Prior registration is not required.


On the Faculty Registration Day, HKUMed students will complete the following essential registration on-site:

1. Registration with Programme Office
2. Registration with Programme-based Student Society

A free one-way shuttle bus will be available from Sassoon Road Campus to Main Campus on that day, running from 10:50 a.m. – 4:10 p.m..

Faculty Academic Induction and Breakout Sessions by Programmes

It is mandatory for all HKUMed BNurs new undergraduate students to attend the Faculty Academic Induction and the Programme Breakout Sessions on 14 August 2025 (Thursday). New students will get to know the Faculty and its leaderships, as well as meet with programme staff and other freshmen on that day.

Programme Breakout Sessions

Date: August 14, 2025 (Thursday)
Time: 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Venue: Classrooms at Centennial Campus, HKU
(Students will be divided into groups to attend a breakout session at a different venue. Assigned venues will be provided at the on-site reception counter.)


Remarks:
Prior registration is not required.

In case of inclement weather, the talk will be re-scheduled to be held on August 18, 2025 (Monday) at the same time and same venue.

Talk on Common Core Courses

The Talk will provide an opportunity for you to obtain information and ask questions in relation to Common Core course selection before the first day of course selection on August 19, 2025. New undergraduates should attend one of the following sessions.

CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk

The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) provides supportive resources and customised opportunities to students, enabling you to strive for excellence in the whole person development. In this CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk, students will be introduced to a wide range of non-academic services, support and resources to prepare you for your new learning journey at HKU and enable you for a fruitful first year learning experience.

Topics include:

  • Counselling support;
  • Support to students with disabilities and special educational needs (SEN support);
  • Financial resources;
  • Housing information;
  • Career advising;
  • Co-curricular programmes and out-of-classroom learning opportunities;
  • Different non-academic induction activities, and more...

Limited quota is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. New undergraduates should enrol in one of the following sessions.
