MTR Student Travel Scheme 2026/2027

Full-time students who have NOT yet reached the age 26 may apply for the MTR Student Travel Scheme

1.
     Online Application

Online application platform and MTR Mobile Apps are open for application from 13 August 2026

For students who are already holding the previously approved Personalised Octopus or Personalised Mobile Octopus with “Student Status”, the concession will expire not earlier than 31 October 2026.



2.     Eligibility

- Registered full-time students who have not reached 26 years old (an applicant's age is determined by the date the application is submitted).

- Currently enrolled in a full-time day course ("Full-time day course" refers to a day-time course, which normally requires the participant to attend an acceptable local institution for not less than 20 hours of academic instruction each week for 30 weeks or more in an academic year).


3.     Student Identity Proof Requirements

For New Applications, students could upload student identity card once available.

For students who will reach the age of 26 before the issuance of student card, the enrolment certificate of Academic Year 2026/2027 issued by the University will also be accepted as a special arrangement.


4.     Online Payment Methods

The following online payment methods are available on the MTR Mobile Apps: Octopus, Alipay HK, WeChat Pay HK and Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay).
