Mental Health First Aider - Impact at HKU

Impact at HKU

The MHFA Training was first introduced to the University of Hong Kong in 2007. As one of the popular courses offered by CoPE, it aims at:

  • increasing mental health literacy among participants
  • enhancing participants’ confidence to help someone developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis
  • reducing the stigmatisation of mental health problems
  • facilitating early detection of mental health problems
  • promoting early intervention with people developing mental health problems

The training is open to students and staff from any academic programmes, disciplines, or units. As of July 2023, around 2970 participants have completed the training.
