Level of Maximum Grant and Loan for Eligible Courses in HKU (2026/27)
I. Maximum Tuition fees (TF) grant = $47,000
II. Maximum Academic Expenses (AE) Grant

Note: The above rates are applicable to undergraduates and below. The rates for postgraduates are 28% higher than those for undergraduates of the respective disciplines.
III. Maximum Living expenses (LE) loan = $58,200
IV. Maximum Hostel subsidy - The actual hostel fee payable (after deducting any other hostel subsidies or waivers) or $10,840 per year / $5,420 per semester, whichever is lower.
V. Maximun Additional academic expenses grant for students with special educational needs = $10,250
VI. Maximum amount of medical expense deductible from family income is $24,250 per family member who is chronically ill or permanently incapacitated.
