Assistive Devices and Equipment

Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology is a general term that includes assistive, adaptive, or rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities. To help students with SEN become more independent in their studies and daily routines, some assistive devices / software are available for loan at CEDARS SEN Support. Upon successful registration for the SEN Support Service, with justified needs, students can borrow the assistive devices listed in the table below. Contact your SEN Case Manager to learn more about the assistive devices/ software. If there is a piece of equipment / a software that you find helpful but is not on the list, you are welcome to discuss with your SEN Case Manager.

Equipment loans are primarily designated for students with SEN or to facilitate university departments in providing services to students with SEN. Requests outside this scope may not be entertained.

The Information Technology Service (ITS) of HKU also offers some software for students and staff to use without additional costs. Please refer to ITS website on software download on  for the list and instructions on how to use them.
