MTR Student Travel Scheme 2020/2021


Full-time students who have not yet reached 26 years of age may apply for the MTR Student Travel Scheme (an applicant's age is determined by the date when the application is submitted).

"Full-time course" means a course which normally requires the participant to attend an acceptable institution to receive not less than 20 hours of academic instruction each week for 30 weeks or more in an academic year (including incoming exchange/visiting students with at least one semester of full-time study at HKU and HKU regular students on exchange to non-local partner institutions).


Application Procedures

  1. Download an application form from MTR's website . Hardcopy forms are also available at CEDARS (3/F Meng Wah Complex), HKUSU, Amenities Centres and Residential Halls/Colleges.

  2. Contact your Faculty to collect an Electronic Student Identity Certificate.

  3. Submit the completed MTR Student Travel Scheme Application Form and the Electronic Student Identity Certificate to any MTR Customer Service Centre (except Airport Express stations, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, Racecourse, Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay, Wong Chuk Hang, Lei Tung, South Horizons, Hin Keng and Kai Tak stations) from 1 September 2020 onwards.
