Summary: What are the unlawful acts under the Disability Discrimination Ordinance? Come and join the talk delivered by Ms Cynthia Lam, Senior Training Officer of Equal Opportunities Commission. It is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of disability. Nevertheless, there are exceptions. Exceptions include cases which a job applicant/an employee cannot undertake the inherent job requirements because of his/her disability and cases which require services or facilities to undertake the inherent job requirements and the provision for these services or facilities to the job applicant/employee will cause unjustifiable hardship on the employer. What are inherent job requirements? What is unjustifiable hardship?
