In a 2-hour walking tour, you will be led by HKU tour guides to explore old Stanley and its military and fishing history.

Itinerary details:

Route 1: Community Stories

Stanley is a fishing village with long history.  From 1960s onwards, fishermen in Stanley have moved onshore.  These fishermen’s stories tell their lives in the past and changes of Stanley.  Historical spots to visit include: Carmelite Monastery, Tai Tam Bay, Hong Kong Sea School, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Stanley Post Office, Old Stanley Police Station, Old Fishermen’s Children School, Fishermen’s Recreation Club, Shui Sin Temple, Stanley Bay, Stanley Main Street, local shrine, Tin Hau Temple, Murray House, old Pier Blake, Pak Tei Temple and Maryknoll House.  This itinerary is suitable for people of all ages, including children and youths.

Route 2: Military History and Historical Monuments

This walking tour will lead you to explore Stanley’s past and Hong Kong’s history.  Historical spots to visit include: Old Stanley Police Station, Stanley Post Office, Stanley Public Dispensary, St Stephen’s College, Stanley Military Cemetery, Pat Kan Uk, Shui Sin Temple, Stanley Main Street, local shrine, Tin Hau Temple, Murray House and old Blake Pier.  This itinerary is suitable for adults, especially people who are interested in history and monuments.
