University YMCA®(HKU): Joint University Playground Builder Project in Philippines (Deadline: 20 March 2017)
Playground Builder is a sustainable service
project that aims at constructing therapeutic playgrounds for children in
developing countries. Following the
success of our last playground construction in December 2016, we are now
recruiting our next batch of participants for Playground Builder 2.0. Participants from different universities will
work together to build a therapeutic playground for children in the Philippines
to enhance their sensory integration and social skills.

Dates & Time: (1) Pre-trip preparation meetings: 5 April, 19 May & 26
May 2017; (2) Trip: 2 to 11 June 2017; (3) Post-trip meetings and activity: To
be confirmed

Eligibility: Full-time students and
alumni with valid Uni-Y membership
3. Fee: (1) Students: Programme Fee $5,500 + Deposit $1,000** +
Donation fundraised $350; (2) Alumni: Programme Fee
$5,500 + Deposit $1,000** +
Donation fundraised $1,000

Trip location: San Pablo YMCA, Philippines
5. Language
of pre-/post-trip activities: Cantonese
** Programme fee includes round-trip flight
ticket, accommodation, meals, local transportation and group travel insurance;
deposit is refundable upon (1) satisfactory performance; (2) 80% attendance of
all pre-trip and post-trip meetings and activities; and (3) completion of the
trip.
