The Inauguration Ceremony for New Students, organised by CEDARS, is the University's formal welcome for all first-year students. At the Ceremony, new students will meet the University's principal officers and senior academics, including the President and Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Presidents and Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Registrar, Librarian, Deans of Faculties, Dean of Graduate School and Dean of Student Affairs. A highlight of the Ceremony is the Robing Ceremony, symbolising the official induction of new students into the University family. The Inauguration Ceremony 2026 was held on 26 August, 2026 at the Grand Hall of Lee Shau Kee Lecture Theatre.
