Inauguration Ceremony for New Students

The Inauguration Ceremony for New Students, organised by CEDARS, is the University's formal welcome for all first-year students. At the Ceremony, new students will meet the University's principal officers and senior academics, including the President and Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Presidents and Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Registrar, Librarian, Deans of Faculties, Dean of Graduate School and Dean of Student Affairs.

The Inauguration Ceremony also includes a Robing Ceremony, which symbolises the official induction of the new students to the University family.

Date: 26 August 2026 (Wednesday)

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Venue: The Grand Hall of Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, Centennial Campus

Dress Code: Formal attire and shoes (a Green Gown will be provided for the Robing Ceremony)

Pre-event registration is mandatory. Registration link will open at 10 a.m. on 19 August (Wednesday). Please complete the registration and secure your seat starting from 19 August (Wednesday) at 10:00 a.m. to 21 August (Friday) at 5p.m. System will be closed when the quota is full.
